Each day balances focused creativity with freedom and reflection. Here's how a typical day unfolds.

Dive into focused sessions on lyric writing, melody crafting, chord progressions, and performance with a practical element to spark your creativity.

Pair up or form small groups to co-write. Use prompts or themes from the workshop, or simply follow the free creative flow wherever it takes you.

Wander through quaint towns, visit historical sites, and soak in the natural beauty. Collect ideas and inspiration for your songs along the way.

End the day sharing what you've written, getting feedback, and connecting over good food. Some evenings feature jam sessions or sound baths.

Bring your songs to life in a real studio setting. This session builds on ideas from previous workshops, giving you the chance to refine, arrange, and record your work with professional guidance, learning about performance, arrangement, and recording techniques along the way.

Everything you need to know before your creative adventure in Puglia.

The retreat takes place in beautiful Puglia, in the south of Italy. The nearest airports are Brindisi (BDS) and Bari (BRI). From either airport, it's about a 1–2 hour drive. You can rent a car, take a train, or we can help coordinate shared transfers with other guests.

A shuttle service can be arranged upon request. To ensure availability and timely coordination, please notify us of your need for this service well in advance of the event.

Yes! We offer guided excursions to explore the beautiful surrounding areas. Activities include visits to charming nearby towns, stunning beaches, and picturesque coastal locations along the Salento coast.

Your host will drive you around and coordinate group activities as well as exploration time. You'll also have free time to wander on your own and get lost in the charm of Salento's towns and stunning seaside spots.

All levels are welcome — from curious beginners to seasoned songwriters. The retreat is designed to meet you where you are and help you grow, no matter your experience level.

Bring your instrument (guitar, ukulele, etc.), a notebook or laptop for writing, comfortable clothing, swimwear, sunscreen, and an open mind. We'll have a keyboard and basic recording equipment available at the venue, so don't worry if you can't travel with larger gear.

You have a 14-day cooling-off period after booking (full refund minus £15 admin fee). After that: cancellations more than 8 weeks out receive a refund of all payments minus the £275 deposit; 4–8 weeks out, 50% of the balance paid (deposit forfeited); less than 4 weeks, no refund. If We Write Away cancels the event, you will receive a full refund including your deposit. Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all participants.
